The City of Vernon has been selected for a performance audit on operational procurement by the Auditor General for Local Government.  The audit will assess the practices followed by the City to acquire a broad range of goods and services necessary to the provision of programs to the public. Catherine Lord, Acting Mayor for the City of Vernon says "council's  objective is to make sure the city services we deliver are using best practices."  The City will soon be receiving more detail describing the approach to the audit. Meetings with local government and the Auditor Generals office will begin  in mid June with the audit to be completed through the summer.
