Ford drives tourism forward

Tourism promotion is hitting the road. Watkin Motors and Marjak Leasing have provided Tourism Vernon a 2014 Ford Escape. “Since we first went mobile by offering visitor services outside of our Visitor Centres in 2009, Watkin Motors and Marjak Leasing have supported us as our official vehicle sponsors,” said Michelle Jefferson, tourism services manager. “During this five-year partnership, we have enjoyed three different vehicles that help Tourism Vernon respond to the changing needs for visitor services. The cars also act as moveable billboards in helping promote our services.” The tourism vehicles are used to attend trade shows and events to raise awareness of Vernon and its visitor services. They have also been used to provide tours to out-of-town media and dignitaries when they visit Vernon.
