A former Lumby councillor wants to take a run at federal politics. Janet Green will be announcing her candidacy for the Okanagan-Shuswap Conservative nomination Tuesday. The retired health care professional will join Mel Arnold of Salmon Arm as candidates so far. Former Vernon mayor Wayne McGrath is Green's campaign manager. The next federal election is set for the fall of 2015, and Colin Mayes, the three term Conservative MP since 2006, will be retiring.
