Penticton city manager Annette Antoniak has announced she will be leaving City Hall later this month. "We are extremely sad to see Annette go," said Mayor Andrew Jakubeit. "She has been instrumental to the realization of Penticton's vision, propelling the organization to new heights with her innovative and entrepreneurial approach.... She will be missed, and council wishes her all the best." Antoniak joined the city in 2010. She was provided the difficult task of organizational change at the beginning of her tenure, implementing a core review of all city functions. Her key achievements include the first downtown revitalization and waterfront enhancement to be successfully undertaken in the city for more than 30 years. "The organization has evolved greatly in the five years I have been here, and I think that is a testament to the positive, service-oriented attitude reflected in the organization," said Antoniak. "I will miss many things about Penticton, but I will miss the incredible staff the most." Antoniak's final day with the city is Feb. 16. She leaves to take on a corporate CEO position to be announced at a later date.
