The issue over bus stops near the Village Green Centre may not be over. Earlier this week. BC Transit said a land swap deal allowing for construction of a bus pullout on 48th Avenue fell through, meaning the temporary bus stops on 48th would become permanent. In a statement issued by the mall's management firm Bentall Kennedy, General Manager Scott Adam says they understand the concerns of the community. "Since safety concerns caused the bus stop to be moved last February, we have been working diligently with all parties involved to come to a permanent solution," says Adam. He says they intend to have further talks with Transit and the City on potential solutions to address the needs of their tenants and customers. The bus stop had earlier been near the mall's west entrance, but was moved to the road for what were called safety reasons.
