B.C. teachers have voted 86 percent in favour of a full scale walkout. BCTF president Jim Iker says it sends a very strong message to Christy Clark and the government it's time to negotiate in good faith, put new funding on the table, and reach a fair deal that also provides better support for students. He says while they are ready to withdraw services that decision hasn't been made and the rotating strikes continue. Vernon is being hit today, North Okanagan Shuswap and Central Okanagan tomorrow. Education minister Peter Fassbender says the result wasn't unexpected, and the teachers need to come to the table with realistic expectations. The earliest a walkout could happen is monday and Fassbender says it took 5 days of bargaining to get the support staff agreement, and that can happen with the teachers as well.
