Fireworks will once again light up the sky around Vernon on Canada Day.The event will be based at the D-N-D starting at 10:30 Saturday night.A citizen's committee helped raise eight-thousand dollars through sponsors for the 15 minute show.Fire chief John Lysholm says the Okanagan Landing Fire department will put on the display, while other local departments will volunteer their services for security and fire safety.Lysholm says, 'The best part about it is that its not just Vernon its everybody in the community. This is Canada Day celebrations that's all of us. So I think the fact that we brought them all together and that we're all working together co-operatively in this is a real plus."Parking will be available at Okanagan College with a free shuttle service to the grounds.
