Interior Health issues RFP for hospital planning

http://www.vernon.thesun.net/node/399154
Despite complaints from doctors in both Kelowna and Vernon, the Interior Health Authority is continuing with expansion plans for both hospital facilities. The Authority has issued a request for proposals for consultants to do the schematic design work for a new ambulatory care facility in Kelowna and a major expansion project in Vernon. Doctors in Vernon say the expansion is not big enough and won't cover the growing population in the North Okanagan. Physicians in Kelowna say they need a new building with more operatings rooms, not just ambulatory care. Melanie Simmons - Standard Radio News
