Rise hosts gala to support hospital

The Rise is rallying behind Vernon Jubilee Hospital. The golf resort, which is currently under construciton, will host its inaugural Moonlight Serenade Charity Gala Sept. 8. Proceeds will benefit the VJH Foundaiton. "We are delighted to support the VJHF by inviting the community to share a beautiful night of music, wine and food," said Leona Snider, president of the Rise. "The Rise is part of Vernon 's community and each year the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation performs an invaluable service for our community by raising funds for Vernon Jubilee Hospital." The event will begin at 5 p.m. at the Rise and it will include the Heartstrings Quartet and the Ritz Melodia Salon Orchestra. A live auction will take place at 8 p.m. The highlight of the live auction will be two tickets to the 2007 Masters tournament in Augusta, Ga. and accommodations at the Ritz Carlton, Reynolds Plantation. Tickets for the Masters have not been available to the public since 1972. Tickets for Moonlight Serenade are available for $150 by calling 549-4481. “The Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation is thrilled to be involved in this magical evening of elegance,” said Jennifer Morrison, director of development for the VJH Foundation. “Corporate support is vital to our success and we are very grateful to the Rise for this opportunity.  Health care is important to everyone and this very special event will be an opportunity for all of us to make a difference for our community’s hospital.”
