RCMP in Vernon are on the lookout for a man who robbed the Esso gas station on 32nd St late Saturday night. Shortly before midnight, a man entered the station and threatened to shoot the employee unless he handed over some cash. he man indicated he had a gun, although none was produced. He got an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.The suspect is described as a white male, about 25 years of age, slim build with sandy curly hair. he was wearing a tan baseball cap, black sports sweater with white sleeves and jeans. Vernon was hit by two suspected armed robberies Saturday night... and RCMP say they could be linked. The first one happened at 11:45pm when a man entered the Esso gas station on 32nd street, told the employee he had a gun, and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. Then at 3:30 this morning, the 7-11 on 27th street was the target of a robbery when the suspect entered the store, also indicated to staff he had a gun, and fled the scene with the cash. RCMP say the descriptions of the suspect are similar in both cases.... they're described as 25 years old with a slim to medium build wearing jeans and a tan baseball cap. Anyone with information is asked to contact Vernon RCMP.
