The woman who took on just about every local politician over the last few years, says she has no regrets about her time in the city. Debra Chritchley is no longer with the Vernon Women's Centre where she served as media spokesperson and community coordinator since 1998. She tells KISS FM, 'When I moved to Vernon, it was one of those communities where the pot needed to be stirred. We've had some pretty high profile protests, sit-ins and public disagreements with politicians, but it's all the work of social change.' Critchley says she has no regrets. 'None at all. I think the Vernon Women's Centre was brave enough to take on some real hot issues and some tough challenges and I think that with the support and assistance of people in the community, that we've done that well.' Critchley is now working as a temporary staff rep for the B-C Government and Service Employees Union in Victoria. Women's Centre board chair Anne Foss says Critchley made a significant difference to the quality of many women's lives through her dedication to woman's issues.
