Despite a resolution from Coun. Beardsell that failed to find a second to accept the minutes of the last council meeting, Council changed the minutes to indicate that there had been a "spelling" error and the word Rate was changed to Ratio. This ensured that there would be a tax increase to the Light Industrial and Utility Classes for the 2007 year. Under this resolution these ratio changes would be phased in over 2 years at 3.2 Ratio for Lt. Industrial and 6.5 for Utilities.
Unfortunately the actual ratios were suppose to be 3.5 not 3.2 for Lt. Ind. and 6.2 not 6.5 for the Industrial class. This error had been noted and this caused a Resolution by B. Beardsell to reexamine the resolution passed with regards to the effect on the various classes if the ratio's were amended to the intended ones and also what do with the extra revenue generated to be voted on. The vote was unanimous to reexamine. I would guess that the Finance Committee will discuss this at Thursday's meeting due to its budget implications
