Snow Removal Right on BudgetIt's not cheap to clear snow off the roads as cities around B-C are finding out this season. The City of Vernon has spent 194-thousand dollars on snow clean-up so far this year. Finance Manager Rob Mayne says that's 41 percent of the budgeted funds,'We are certainly experiencing a snowy fall and we have spent a fair bit. I don't anticipate us being over the476-thousand annual budget unless we get hit pretty hard over the next few weeks.' Mayne says the cost to clear the roads can range from 20-thousand, to 45-thousand dollars per snowfall.(Pete McIntyre)
