Years of municipal tax increases below the B.C. average look set to end for Kelowna homeowners.A proposed 3.5 per cent increase in 2007 will likely be followed by even steeper hikes as costs come due for big-ticket projects like the Mission aquatic centre and the Central Okanagan bypass, Coun. Norm Letnick said Monday.“This might be the easiest budget we have for the next five years,” Letnick said as councillors got their first look at the city’s provisional spending plan for 2007.It calls for a municipal tax increase of 3.5 per cent, which would translate into an extra $56 for the owner of a typical Kelowna home.
