The Greater Vernon Services Committee holds its first meeting today since being stripped of its authority last week by NORD. The group can no
longer make final decisions on issues like water and parks. Vernon councillor Barry Beardsell still feels NORD's move was illegal, and he says the fight is not over. 'No I'm not backing down one iota. According to that letter the direction that they took was not the right direction.' Beardsell feels the NORD vote should have only involved Greater Vernon jurisdictions, and not all of the outlying communities as well. NORD chairman Jerry Oglow will be addressing the committee at today's meeting.(Pete McIntyre)
