A Vernon woman is facing theft and fraud charges after allegedly tealing $115,000 from her employer. 43 year old Virginia L.Wilson is charged with theft over five thousand dollars, fraud, falsification of books and documents, and theft by a person required to account. Wilson has no previous criminal record and will make her first court appearance on January 3rd. She is accused of stealing the money over a five year period while working in an accounts receivable capacity at the Monahan Agency Book Distribution Company. An employee of the business first alerted the police in June when major book keeping discrepancies were noticed after the accused had left the company. A forensic audit was conducted for the years 2001 to 2006 and the extent of the illegal activity came to light. (Pete McIntyre)
