Samuels)Vernon RCMP are investigating the theft of a large collection of military memorabilia from the Royal Canadian Legion. Missing are dozens of items including war medals that date back to the Boer War as well as WW1,2 and the Korean conflict. The theft was reported to police on November 16 but staff of the Legion feel it may have taken place3 months earlier. Police have a possible suspect in mind but have been unsuccessful in locating any of the stolen items. Mounties are appealing to the public, on behalf of the Legion, for the return of the unique collection. Anyone with knowledge of the theft or the whereabouts of the items is urged to call the Vernon detachment or Crimestoppers.
