Where is Megan?

By Scott NeufeldThursday, January 11, 2007 http://www.dailycourier.ca/article_867.php

A local family has launched a frantic search for their daughter who has been missing since Sunday.Megan Bazell, a 15-year-old W.L. Seaton Secondary student, has not been seen since she went to bed at her MacDonald Road home on Saturday night.Megan’s mother Christy said she went to wake her daughter on Sunday morning, but her room was empty.“That’s when I thought she must have gone out to some party,” she said. “I thought maybe she didn’t realize what time it was.”
But as the hours ticked away, the family grew increasingly concerned and they reported Megan’s disappearance to the RCMP.“At that early stage you’re thinking that she’s going to be back soon,” said Megan’s father Vance.Christy said that none of Megan’s friends have seen her or know where she is. Police have talked to a 19-year-old man who is believed to have had contact with Megan on Saturday, but he denies seeing her. The RCMP are not suspecting foul play in the girl’s disappearance. Cpl. Henry Proce of the Vernon RCMP said they are hoping that public tips will help them find Megan soon.“We’re fairly certain she will show up within the next day or two,” he said. “If somebody saw her in the mall that would be reassuring to the parents.”

Since Sunday the Bazells have blanketed the community with posters and have also set up several posts on MySpace, a popular website among teenagers.“I just want her to know that she’s not in trouble,” Christy said. “We just want to know if she is safe.”The Bazells said their daughter’s disappearance is out of character and she had perfect attendance at school this year before she disappeared.

Christy said she hopes that someone will find her daughter ending the family’s pain.“My brain’s not working because I haven’t been sleeping,” she said. “Every noise I think, ‘is that her coming home? Does that mean she’s safe now?’”Megan is 5’7”, 183 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Vernon RCMP at 545-7171 or leave an anonymous tip with Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

She hasn't been seen or heard from for several days and the family of the Vernon teenager is now desperate to find her. Fifteen year old Meagan Bazell disappeared from her home Saturday night. Bazell's mom says she's never run away before and has no reason to now.
