Reposting of a Feb 26/07 article.
Don Quixote Note: Feb 26/07 I have put this item on top of the page as Coun. Beardsell asked staff today at COW meeting to look into these concrete pieces in case the City of Vernon could use them.
Web posted on Monday, 19 February 2007 It seems like such a waste: a waste of taxpayers dollars and a waste of a perfectly good structure. If you wanted to buy a 260 space concrete parkade, the price tag would likely be in the millions of dollars. So why is the City of Kelowna preparing to demolish just such a structure?
Invitation to Tender T07-030 Kelowna Bid Structural Concrete Demolition General Description: Demolition and crushing of large structural concrete pieces located at the Glenmore Landfill
No Takers For Parkade is another posting on this matter. This shows a picture of the concrete pieces.
No idea if still there but might be usable if Library/City Complex went ahead?
