Only a handful of Vernon residents showed up to comment on this year's new budget last night.The city is proposing a tax hike is 2.8%, or an extra 20 dollars for the average homeowner.Finance Committee Chair Patrick Nicol says about 5 people showed up to the session.'You know all in all it was a good public session. It wasn't well attended, but very thoughtful presentations that were made.' City council is hoping to finalize the new budget by next month. Mayor Wayne Lippert says it could still undergo some minor changes before then,'I think its not so much dollars and cents as what projects that are still on there that need to be looked at.'
