It took 15 months, but Vernon finally has its first Bait Car theft and it didn't take long for the second one. The same Bait Car was stolen twice from Vernon streets last Friday. RCMP Corporal Henry Proce says it's the first time the same Bait Car has been taken twice during the same day. Vernon has been involved in the Bait Car program since December, 2005 and Proce says until last week there had been no thefts of Bait Cars in the City. He says 18-year-old Tyler Bru of Vernon and a young offender were arrested in the first incident. Joel Francis Lee, 38, a Vernon resident of no fixed address was arrested during the second theft.
