The Vernon Public Art Gallery wants to be included in the city's proposed new library complex. President Marion Morrison told city council, her group has outgrown its current facility in the parkade building, and would like to be located near the museum and library. Council has agreed to meet with the gallery's board, which Morrison sees as a positive first step. 'What we would want to be talking to council about is the specifics of the kinds of things that we need in a permanent purpose built facility. The kinds of things that are going to last us, say, 20 to50 years.' Morrison says the art gallery would be seeking about 15-thousand square feet in the new building,or more than double their current space. The city is waiting for final designs for the library complex which could cost up to 28 million.
