OMMA Property Assessment

Starlee Speers, Standard Radio News http://www.vernon.thesun.net/node/521764

Coldstream is hoping to make living in the district more affordable. The district of Coldstream is hoping the provincial government will put a moratorium on increasing lakeshore property assessments for long term homeowners. Mayor Gary Corner says, they'll be putting forward a resolution at the Okanagan Mainline Municipal Association conference, which would restore lakeshore property assessments to 2004 levels. The resolution would apply to long term lakeshore homeowners. Market values would be reestablished when the property is sold. The OMMA convention will be in Vernon next year.
