It could be a soggy few weeks for Vernon's homeless. Annette Sharkey, with the Social Planning Council, says the lease for a temporary shelter at the Sigalet building fell through after the tent city went up.Sharkey says they're not giving up, realtors continue to try and find a new location, but she says it means the truly homeless are still sleeping outside. She says the committee believes the community understands that it is a vital service and we, as a community, need to move quickly to provide a shelter.
