The Gang who Couldn't Shoot Straight strikes again. *Propaganda Campaign using taxpayers dollars continues.

Once again and this time during the Alternate Approval Process period the City of Vernon, The Okanagan Regional Library and the RCMP have teamed up to spend taxpayers money on an Advertisement in Wednesday's Morningstar. (Page A7)
I have no idea who is getting the invoice for these ads or how much they cost but I do know that the property taxpayer will pay for it in the end.
The City had 3 public meetings and at least two weeks before the Counter Petition period to explain what the petition was all about and why it should NOT be signed. They also have posted the two legal ads required under the community charter and each form that is signed fully explains the procedure. They also have all this information on their website. http://www.vernon.ca/news/library_civic.html?page=trans_plan
The City has had their kick at the can, now the people who oppose this bylaw for whatever reason should have their opportunity to express their opinion without having their own tax dollars spent on unnecessary advertising.

Previous Postings on this Issue:
*Propaganda in its most basic sense presents information in order to influence its audience. The most effective propaganda is often completely truthful, but some propaganda presents facts selectively to encourage a particular synthesis, or gives loaded messages in order to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented.
