Although the 2777 signatures required represents 10% of all voters as calculated by City as is required by the Community Charter, it actually is 29% of the total votes cast in the last municipal election.
Our Present Mayor spent $11,285.67 or $3.78 per vote to get his 31% share of the votes cast.
The bar has been set quite high but 2777 is only a target. The higher the total the more likely that Council will change their stated intentions and return with a referendum.
