(d) the security of the property of the municipality;

(i) the receipt of advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose;

NOTICE OF SPECIAL IN-CAMERA MEETING OF COUNCIL Date: Monday, July 16, 2007Time: 7:00 p.m.Place: Vernon & District Performing Arts Centre Marie Flemming (sic) Hall 3800 - 33 Street, Vernon, BC Re: In-Camera Meeting Pursuant to Section 90(1)(k) of the Community Charter
-----------------------------
Don Quixote Note: Although both councils will be attempting to close the same meeting they are doing so for different reasons apparently. Coldstream is requesting closure only under part (k) of section 90(1) of the Community Charter while the Vernon Council will attempt to shut the Public out under at least 4 additional clauses of the Charter. Perhaps they have different Agendas.
This meeting is OPEN to the public until our two esteemed Councils pass motions to move In-Camera after explaining what sections of the Community Charter they are invoking to do so. That is the time they usually boot us out. As this will be a nice summer day and the pool is nearby and open and is the first day of the counter petition campaign why not drop by and watch Democracy in Action. It may be only a 5 minute glimpse into what passes as Political debate and decision making in our cities but a change to meet and greet your council members should not be lightly tossed aside.
The age old Scientific question of whether there is more Hot Air rising from an open meeting of Council or an In-camera clandestine meeting should be of interest for the small children that may wish to observe this rare gathering of the Political hierarchy.
