VANCOUVER -- The B.C. Lottery Corp. revealed Thursday its fired president will receive a total of $603,000 in severance -- hours after announcing no evidence of fraud was uncovered in a review of 190 big lottery wins by retailers over the past six years. Vic Poleschuk was fired in early June, three days after B.C. Ombudsman Kim Carter released a scathing report that found BCLC wasn't doing enough to prevent retailer fraud. John McLernon, chairman of BCLC's board, said the level of severance was required by Poleschuk's contract, which entitles him to 18 months of severance if fired without cause.
