Mayor Library

Vernon's Mayor is backing away from the idea of a library civic complex. Wayne Lippert says the 6-thousand votes on the counter petition are a pretty good indication people don't want the city to build. The library board has budgeted 9-million dollars for their part of the proposed 29-million dollar complex. The civic centre proposal included space for RCMP, an art gallery and city staff. Lippert says council may discuss their plan on Friday at a special meeting.
