There is overwhelming opposition to Vernon city council borrowing $20 million.

This is good news, what council were trying to do is wrong.
To my thinking borowing all the money to build anything is wrong.
I think all tax money over what
is used to fill potholes and just
the most necesary things. Then all
the rest should be used to pay off all existing debt. From then on if
you don't have the money you don't
need it. If there is not interest to pay your cost is very much less.
To top it off we do not need a new library, who uses the present library ? My Co. pays around 3,500.00 a year in taxes toward the
present library and not any of our
family or our employees have have ever been in it. With Google and Internet a library is obsolete as
a dinosar.It would be just another hole to throw money into.Borrow 20M
then the over run likely another 20M and interest over many years will double it again.Our great
grandkids will still be saddled with it.
We elect councils to run the day to
day city business not to go into
the property development business
for which they are not qualified.
