Federal funding for the Runway Extension at Kelowna International Airport is one step closer to reality now that the Treasury Board has approved the project. The feds are expected to match the $1.35 million dollars already provided by the provincial government to bring the runway to 8900 feet. Kelowna-Lake Country MP Ron Cannan says there are two legal requirements remaining in the process. Cannan says they're expecting to have everything finished and the cash in hand by early September.
