Its taken almost two years, but RCMP have completed a second criminal investigation against former Vernon mayor Sean Harvey. Commercial crime investigators say they didn't find enough evidence to support criminal charges. The probe dealt with Harvey's business dealings with a local businessman who bought a large amount of farm land in the Commonage which was later annexed into the city, and went up in value. A lawyer hired to look into the conflict cleared Harvey of wrongdoing, but the police continued to investigate. Mounties now say there will be no charges resulting. Harvey recently completed a one year conditional sentence given to him in 2006 after pleading guilty to breach of trust. He used a city credit card to rack up 13-thousand dollars in personal expenses while mayor.
