  • 2008 PERMISSIVE TAX EXEMPTION BYLAW (P. 131) (vi) THAT Council endorses the recommendations from the Finance Committee in regards to the 2008 Permissive Tax Exemption Bylaw as follows:The following property making new application be granted 100% tax exemption, to be phased in over a three year period: • The John Howard Society of the North Okanagan/Kootenay Region of BC 2307 – 43rd Street , The following property be moved into the Social Service services category to receive a 100% tax exemption for 2008: • Trinity United Church (Camp Hurlburt) 9657 Eastside Road
  • VERNON HOSPICE GRANT FUNDING (P. 141) (vii) THAT Council endorses the recommendation from the Finance Committee that the one time grant in lieu of Building Permit fees, City DCC’s and offsite works, in the amount of $60,000, to the Vernon and District Hospice Society, in support of the expansion project for the Hospice House, be funded from the Assisted Living Reserve Fund.
  • FIRST AND SECOND READING; PUBLIC HEARING DATE (iv) THAT Bylaw #5087, “9650 Eastside Road Plan Vernon Amendment Bylaw Number 5087, 2007” – a bylaw to redesignate subject lands from “Tourist Commercial” to “Residential – Low Density”, be read a first and second time; (P. 217) (Ekistics Town Planning Inc.) AND FURTHER, that the Public Hearing be scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, 2007 in Council Chambers at 5:30 pm.
