Expect some flexible shifts and occasional weekend work. Under the direction of the Officer-in-Charge Vernon / North Okanagan Detachment RCMP, and supervision of the Manager of the City of Vernon RCMP Safe Communities Unit the incumbent is responsible for the development, promotion and implementation of crime prevention and community safety programs within the Regional District North Okanagan with the purpose of educating the client base in effectively reducing the fear and incidents of crime.

Planner is responsible for leadership, direction, information and advice on environmental issues which affect the City of Vernon.

performs a full range of technical planning support functions requiring skilled planning and
regulatory work. This position supports the planning review process for development
applications; provides information and interprets regulations/policies/processes; makes
recommendations to development applicants and various internal and external clients.
