Feds Come Through with Airport Cash

Charmaine de Silva - Standard Radio News

The Federal Government has finally come through with 1.35-million dollars in funding for the Kelowna International Airport. Ron Cannan made the announcement Saturday morning, which comes out of the Federal Government's 200-million dollar Pine Beetle Initiative. Cannan says it may seem odd that airport funding comes from pine beetle money, but its all about supporting economic diversification in the region. The money from the feds matches the contribution from the province, and adds to the 5.3-million dollars from the City of Kelowna.
