The Province of BC is partnering with Okanagan College to build a new $28 million 'Centre for Student Learning' at the College's Kelowna campus. The new Centre for Student Learning will be linked with the library building and will provide 6,400 square metres of space. Along with 22 new classrooms and 685 new instructional seats, the building will house a media shop with a graphics lab, video editing and media production services, and 36 technology workstations. There will also be a new wireless Internet service stemming from the building and accessible from anywhere on the whole campus. The building will also host the Office of Administration with room for about 110 staff. The library will be enlarged by about 350 additional study spaces, and a new professional development centre for instructors and staff will be part of the expansion.

Don Quixote Note: The Original Library Civic Complex was to have 6178 Square metres of habitable space and 3 stories for about $28 million while this new Centre of Learning will be 6400 Sq. Metres and be 5 stories. (Of course the original concept in Vernon had 144 parking spaces on 2 levels at a cost of $5,349,000)
