Opening of KGH Parkade Marks Completion of Another Phase in Redevelopment of Central Okanagan Health Services
KELOWNA – Interior Health has completed the construction of a new 326-stall parkade at Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) and it is now open for staff parking. The opening of the parkade marks the completion of another key component of the redevelopment of health services in the Central Okanagan. “The parkade is a major component in the redevelopment plan for Kelowna General Hospital,” said Health Minister George Abbott. “Now that the parkade is complete, we can proceed with plans for the Ambulatory Care Centre, which will bring huge benefits to patients and residents of the Okanagan.”
Construction of the $8 Million parkade was needed to allow for future relocation of the visitor parking in front of the Emergency Department, which will be moved to the open on-grade lot off Rose Avenue, currently being used for staff parking. Staff parking will be relocated to the parkade.

Don Quixote Note: Cost per parking stall is $24,540 (8,000,000/326)
