Mining Minister Kevin Krueger jumped to the defence this week of embattled Children's Minister Tom Christensen, who faced another barrage of questions over lavish renovations at his ministry's headquarters. The redesign rang in at $560,000, including $8,500 for a totem pole. As one NDP critic after another hammered Christensen for wasting money, Krueger finally shouted from the backbenches: "Are you opposed to totem poles?"
