Minister of Agriculture and Lands Pat Bell informed Lumby Village Council by letter that he’s just becoming familiar with the Lumby to Silver Star road proposal. The minister had requested that a feasibility study should be done regarding the proposal. Mayor Eric Foster had then informed the minister that there had already been reports and studies completed for the project. The minister is now requesting his staff to review the existing studies and then meet with the village regarding committing Crown land to the project.A different ministry had previously managed Crown land when the studies had been done. A shuffle with provincial ministry responsibilities appear to have brought delays to the road proposal. At the most recent Lumby council meeting Mayor Foster reported, “I think we have everything that they require”.
