A 25-year-old Vernon man pleaded guilty Thursday in a Vancouver courtroom to his involvement in four of seven drug related murders. Sgt. Al Haslett says Andre Raymond has been in custody since they arrested a number of members of " The Greeks" for the seven murders in Vernon between April 2004 and May 2005.Raymond pleaded guilty to the first degree murder of Ron Thom and manslaughter in the deaths of David Marniuk, Thomas Bryce and Robert Hewison.Ronald Thom's body was found on Commonage Road in May 2005. In April of this year, 37 year old Douglas Brownell of Vernon and 4 others, already in custody, were charged with his murder. 47-year-old David Marniuk, who members of the Greeks were earlier charged with his murder, has been missing since July 14, 2005. Thomas Bryce's body found beaten at Kin Beach in the fall of 2004. He later died.Robert Hewison's body was found on Westside Road in the Spring of 2005. In April of this year, Ken Beck pleaded guilty to second degree murder and received life in prison with no parole for ten years. Haslett says they were in touch with the families of the victims and some of them were present for Raymond's sentencing in Vancouver. He was sentenced to life in prison, with no parole for 25 years.

VANCOUVER - A 25-year-old man has pleaded guilty in B.C. Supreme Court in Vancouver to his involvement in four drug-related killings in Vernon, B.C. Andre Raymond of Vernon admitted to the first-degree murder of Ron Thomm and manslaughter in the deaths of David Marniuk, Thomas Bryce and Robert Hewison. Raymond was sentenced to life in prison, with no parole for 25 years.In April of this year, Ken Beck also pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the Hewison killing and was sentenced to life in prison with no parole for 10 years. Five other men - Sheldon O'Donnell, Leslie Podolski, Dale Sipes, Peter Manolakos and Douglas Brownell - are also charged with murder after a total of seven men were shot or beaten to death in Vernon between April 2004 and May 2005.The killings allegedly involved a Vernon criminal gang known as the Greeks that was active in the drug trade.
