The Okanagan Boys & Girls Clubs will continue to manage and operate a number of City facilities. The City of Kelowna will enter into a five year agreement with a five year renewal option with the club after receiving no objections from its citizens. An Alternative Approval Process was issued by the City on December 4, 2007. City Clerk, Allison Flack, says no valid petitions were received by the cutoff of the AAP, January 14. The agreement leases the Jaycees Downtown Youth Club, Rutland Youth Centre, Martin Avenue Community Centre and provides a license to use a portion of Cameron Park to the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs. It also provides terms and conditions for operation by the club, including administration, management and programming facilities to provide community programs and services through the management of the facilities.
