Conservative MP Betty Hinton and Liberal MLA Claude Richmond were in the good books this week after jointly announcing a funding injection for two library projects in the region.The political pair, speaking at Thursday’s meeting of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD), announced $3.4 million to be spent on libraries on the North Shore and in 100 Mile House.The libraries will receive $2 million and $1.4 million, respectively, with the money coming out of the Canada-B.C. Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund. Construction of the Tranquille Road library is expected to cost $8 million and be completed in 2010. The new library will be double in size of the existing library and include a computer lab and exhibition space.
