Plans to develop a site in Okanagan Landing for attainable housing, are moving forward. The Hesperia Development Corporation has reached a three million dollar deal, to purchase 69 acres above Apollo Road and Okanagan Avenue, from the city. Corporation spokesman Ken Stewart tells KISS FM, the plan is to develop the land over the next five to seven years, for people with moderate incomes. "That's mid range incomes, (around) $60,000 to $100,000 a year. It's that end of the community that's been left behind by the increase in house pricing." Stewart says the next step will be servicing the site which will take up to two years.Hesperia is a corporation that's owned by the city, and run by a group of directors. Any profits will go back to the city.
