A Vernon man charged with two counts of obstruction of a peace officer says, he's relieved the charges have been dropped. The charges against Jack Elliman related to confrontation with a bylaw officer at a Peace Rally last summer. Elliman and Neil Magnusson were pepper sprayed and arrested after an disagreement over a parking violation at the rally.
Jack Elliman says he donated money to two local food banks which the crown accepted as a gesture of good will. Meanwhile Neil Magnusson says, he has plans to sue the RCMP and Vernon bylaw enforcement over the scuffle. He says, while he's been offered to have the obstruction charge dropped in exchange for a charity donation, but no decision has been made.
