BC Interior Gets Passport Office

People in the Okanagan will finally get the passport office they've been waiting for . . . but not without waiting a bit longer. Kelowna-Lake Country MP Ron Cannan and Okanagan-Coquihalla MP Stockwell Day made the annoucnement this morning in Kelowna. Cannan says the number of passport applicants in the Okanagan Valley has increased by 10 percent to over 48,000 last year. He says its clear the demand for passports in the area warrants having a permanent office. The timeline for the passport office is 2 years. The passport office will have thirty staff, and be able to process all applications, except next-day service.
