Minister Prepared for No Consensus

The province's Community Services Minister says the working committee's report should include the discussions on regional governance, not just a recommendation on how to change its structure. Ida Chong says if there is no consensus on the issue, she would like them to submit the options they're considering. Chong says she wants to know what was brought up in meetings and discussions, as well as the recommendation on the structure. Chong says she's prepared if there is no consensus on the issue. A draft of the report will be presented today in Penticton, with a final report submitted to the minister by March 31st. At the request of Vernon Mayor, Wayne Lippert the mayors of the other three largest cities will meet tomorrow in Kelowna. He's concerned the rural areas, with less population have too much say.
