2008 TRAFFIC FINE REVENUE

Prov. Announces Fine Revenue for Vancouver Island Coast Cities
Of nearly $8.8 million the province is returning in traffic fine revenue to municipalities across Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast, Victoria will see $2.2 million, Saanich $1.6 million and Nanaimo $1.2 million, Premier Gordon Campbell announced today.

The traffic fine revenue being returned this year is an increase of nearly $172,000 over last year. The money is earmarked to help policing and community-based public safety programs.
