BUDGET - RCMP Budget allocation is for 4 sargents, 4 watch clerks, and 1 records reviewer, which would be funded from the 2007 surplus, however, recognized that the current manpower is down, and if the RCMP compliment is met there would be an increase to the budget in the future. This proposal could cost tax payers and additional $702,728 IF the full compliment of RCMP officers is met in the future.

Council requested the Inspector provide a report on the Restorative Justice program, as the 3 year term completes at the end of 2008.
Moved by Councillor Gilroy, seconded by Councillor Cunningham:

THAT Council approves, in principal, the RCMP Detachment Divisional Budget for 2008.
