by Rachael Kimola -Apr 20, 2008 CASTANET

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in fatal crash in Vernon. RCMP responded to a two-car crash just after 3 a.m. Sunday at 43 Avenue and 20 Street. Constable Anderson says a taxi was broadsided by a northbound SUV. “The driver of the taxi died at the scene. The taxi occupant was taken to Vernon Jubilee Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV also suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released from VJH,” says Anderson. He says the driver of the suspect vehicle has been arrested and taken into custody.
