A Retirement home in Coldstream has been denied a refund of Development Cost charges they don't meet the requirements for a congregate care facility. Greater Vernon Services Chair Gary Corner says the next phase of the development could fall under the definition and qualify for a reduction. The property management for Coldstream Meadows had been asking for a refund of nearly 70 thousand dollars in DCC's they've already paid. Corner says, because meals are optional for residents living in the self-contained cottages, the development doesn't meet the requirements for a DCC refund. He says, the next phase of the development could be eligible for a reduction in Park and Water DCC's.
